The Friends of Claude Debussy at Bichain

Association created on 2 March 2009 under the number W893000668 with the aim of keeping the memory of Claude Debussy's stays in the hamlet of Bichain, commune of Villeneuve la Guyard in Burgundy.

Activities: exhibitions, concerts, conferences, documentation, website...

Project in progress: Preservation of the "Debussy" house and development of a memorial site with the support of the Town Hall.

Marie-Jeanne Baeli,

President of the association, is a musician and a resident of Bichain. She has carried out extensive research in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, at the Maison Natale Claude Debussy, at the Centre de Documentation Claude Debussy in Paris and at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France to guide you in the footsteps of Claude Debussy in the Department of Yonne.

Her exhibition "Claude Debussy, trois étés à Bichain" (Claude Debussy, three summers at Bichain) was presented in Bichain in 2000 and has since been shown in various places in France. She organizes conferences in images and music on La Mer, dealing with the various influences of the art world of that time in the elaboration of this masterpiece.
